University Department of Geography
It is one of the oldest Department of Ranchi University . It was established in the year 1954 under Bihar University. The Department has the credit of doing pioneering work in the areas of settlement geography, geomorphology, and regional planning. The first authentic study of geography of Bihar was published in the book form by the Department. UGC-SAP Project on water harvesting has recently been awarded to the Department.
